Comes Around Goes Around Back to the water :)

Well Comes Around Goes Around is finally getting back ship shape. She has been abandoned in the yard all spring and summer as I have been sailing with Patty on Sea Puppy and helping there with projects for Sea Puppy. I have to admit that Sea Puppy is a nicer and bigger boat to sail on. With better and more comprehensive sail handling gear, more sails, and being able to sail her out of the slip, she is much more convenient to sail than Comes Around Goes Around who requires you to tow her to a landing then step the mast and mount the rudder and engine. Quite a process for a day of sailing. Under ideal conditions your looking at an hour and a half total to put her together and then break her down for a days sailing.

The keel is now faired in and just needs another coat of barrier coat paint over this area. I still have glass in the hole on the inside of the boat where the keel punched a hole thru the front of the keel box. Its already repaird from the inside of the keel box and just needs the same done on the outside of the box in the cabin. I need to scrub the inside of the boat again also. Unfortuanatly the hatch and hatch boards need to be redone and the windows need to be re-sealed as there are small leaks around them when it rains. Its just enough to let enough water in to keep the inside of the boat damp from moisture. 🙁 mildew city. luckly this is a very functional boat and the inside is 99% fiberglass just like the outside. Its very easy to clean. you can take and pressure wash most of the inside and the rest a wet cloth will get. All the cushions and such are stored out of the boat so are in good shape 🙂

Now I just need to wait out hurricane Ophelia to finish up the last minute things.

Also I will be starting on finishing Gooney Bird soon. I’ve really been looking forward to getting her out on the water.
